The courses are delivered in three parts:

Technical courses
These in-depth courses build skills for planning and measuring projects. It is helpful (but not obligatory) to have some knowledge about sustainable healthcare before attending a technical course. You can either attend one of the sustainable healthcare courses (above) or complete the (free) eLearning for Health module ‘Building a Net Zero NHS’ (if you have an NHS email) or similar.
- Carbon Footprinting for Healthcare
- Sustainability in Quality Improvement (SusQI): ideally you would have some knowledge of quality improvement or audit experience before attending this course.
- Teaching Sustainable Quality Improvement: This course is intended to prepare you to teach SusQI in your organisation. To benefit most you would have some teaching experience and some understanding of SusQI, either from the course above, a sustainable healthcare course (above), the (free) eLearning for Health module ‘Environmental Sustainability in Quality Improvement’ or browsing the SusQI.org (free) website.
"I highly recommend the CSH courses. As someone who was interested in environmental sustainability but unsure how to incorporate this into my professional practice, I found it to be a great source of information (and inspiration!). A knowledgeable faculty provide real-life examples of how sustainability projects can improve the NHS for patients and the environment. The courses also provide a fantastic opportunity to network with other like-minded health care professionals (when one can sometimes feel like a ‘lone voice’ within a department)."
Networks: For additional (and free!) support consider joining one or more of the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare Networks where you can access free resources, ask questions, learn and collaborate with others nationally and internationally.
